Succulent Planters - Glass Orbs and Mossy Greens

You can easily create your own glass succulent orb to add some color to the room.
Succulents come in many shapes, colors and sizes. The darker the succulent the more likely it will survive indoors. If you plan on leaving the plant inside, I would suggest choosing a darker vs a lighter green. These guys are very easy to take care of and require little to no maintenance or watering. I keep my succulents by the window so when I leave for the day, all I need to do is open the shades and let a little light in.

TOOLS NEEDED
  • Succulent glass orb - for sale anywhere from craft stores to plant nursuries. I picked these in the flower district in downtown la at Lee's Orchids. Cost is usually about $4 - $6.
  • Mossy neon greens $5 a bag as shown below. A small bag can fill probably 5 - 7 planters. This will last you months all it needs is a spritz of water every 2 - 3 weeks to refrain from drying out.
  • Succulents of your choice. I planted 2 small Aeonium varieties in my large orb and an Aloe variety in the small orb.
  • Paired it with my Metal Earth 3D laser cut "praying mantis" stainless steel puzzle and voila! Completed look above (available here).
